Regulatory sandboxes help bring innovations from research into practice by testing them under real conditions. The new Regulatory Sandboxes Innovation Portal supports the development of regulatory sandboxes by offering advice, information and networking opportunities. In a new collaborative format known as ‘Urban Arena’, municipal utilities and research teams are working together to install seasonal heat storage systems and integrate them into existing heating networks.
